Description

Hand-picked grapes from our Riverland grower, de-stemmed and fermented wild in stainless steel. 75 days lees stirring for complexity. Unfined, unfiltered, bottled early.

Lemony grapefruit sorbet aromas, nashi pear and apple, baked quince; damp straw… jasmine flowers, mint, coastal heath – salty maritime nuances, and a touch of spice.

On the palate… slight creamy texture from extended lees stirring; savoury marzipan and coconut; salted lemon; pear and granny smith apples. Clean and crisp, a light‐bodied classic Italian white wine.

Fermented wild in stainless steel and continuously lees-stirred to add texture and complexity. 140 dozen made.

This is a small-production vermentino from the Riverland made by Brad Wehr. It’s hand-‐picked and gets extended lees stirring to build texture and palate weight. Really works well and is a very good take on the variety from an area that seems well suited to it – 92 Points.

Amato. Vino. Ver-men-tino. Amato. Vino. Ver-men-tino. Could be a chant at a rally. It’s Brad Wehr sourcing grapes from Ricca Terra Farms in Riverland and applying his nous to some newer-to-Australia varieties. This gets some ‘extended lees stirring’, after a natural ferment, to help along vermentino to something more interesting, albeit, retaining it’s inherent refreshment factor.

Sherbetty tang! Uplifting rip of crunchy, almost mineral-water-with-fine-fizzy-bubbles-minerality. Lemony tang. Slashes of watery green apple juice. Easy to drink, easy to like, touch of chalkiness amongst the zig zags of frisky acidity. It’s a wine for easy refreshment, thirst-slaking and drinking with urgency in the heat. Smells pretty neutral in green apple, floral things, citrus pith. Fun ‘n’ fresh. Drink heaps.

Should be more vermentino consumed. Light lime citrus, nutty with a salty tang. Perfect for summer drinking.
