A new one from the Ricca Terra Farms home property. Fiano is a grape found commonly in southern Italy (Campania) and Sicily. Small berries, thick skins and low yields make this variety and expensive one for growers. Renowned for it’s strong colour, flavours and aromas (honey, spice, florals and nuts) it is fast becoming a favourite in Australia’s bars. 80 dozen only.

From our Ricca Terra Farms grower in the Riverland of South Australia comes our first Fiano. Hand-picked, wild-fermented in stainless steel before settling in tank on fine lees for the three months. Bottled straight from settling tank with lees-stirred in July, unfined, unfiltered.
Golden straw colour, slightly cloudy by design. Zesty lemon leaps out of the glass with pear, lime leaf and sage. Stonefruits also (yellow peach, nectarine) and hints of tobacco, spice, vanilla and honey. Wow.
The palate is on the zesty citrus side with a grapefruit tang, balanced by sweeter musk/vanilla nuances. Peach and pear again, lingering. A vibrant, sparkly number; refreshing and moreish.
Enjoyed with or without food.
