2019 Nebbiolo Rosato

Light in colour and cloudy by design. Think smoky tangerine spice and florals, followed by a long savoury palate of fleshy citrus and green herbs. A sweet sherbet lick kicks in before the long dry finish, all held together with racy acidity.

Out of stock

Fosters Nebbiolo from Yallingup in the north of the region. Hand-picked at 13 baume to retain acidity, the grapes were immediately basket-pressed to mature French oak – skin-time approx 2 hours. Regular light lees stirring added complexity and texture.

Wine was settled in tank before bottling unfined, unfiltered and cloudy by design.

Light orange/pink colour. Smoky tangerine opens the nose with orange sherbet. High notes of spice and florals – lavender, anise, sage, sandalwood. The palate shows a savoury line, very dry, with fleshy citrus and green herbs. A sweet sherbet lick kicks in before the long dry finish held together with racy acidity.

Best drunk fresh – with antipasti, charcuterie or pizza.

NOTE: The wine will drop harmless tartrate crystals if kept very cold, and will be cloudy/hazy at room temperature. These proteins are harmless although you may wish to settle the wine before pouring a big glass.

Should be more rosato made from Nebbiolo.

White cherry, touch of liquorice, mandarin, floral. Smells great, with a little Nebbiolo signature underneath. Light, bright, orange and barely ripe strawberry flavoured, fine powdery grip, a little saline on the finish, and also bright and textured. Frisky. Nice one. 92 Points
